On Sunday, December 10th 2023, the BKQ foundation had a moment of worship with the Akropong School for the blind in the Eastern Region. The occasion was graced by the Chairperson of the Foundation, Mr. Benjamin Kofi Quashie and the Co-founder, Mrs. Nonka Quashie. After the worship, the foundation fulfilled its promise and made a donation to the school. The donation was made in response to the Headteacher’s request for food items amongst other needs. The gesture aligns with the BKQ Foundation’s mission of continuously providing support to the less privileged and disadvantaged groups in our society.
The donation was made on behalf of the foundation by the co-founder, Nonka Quashie. In her speech, Mrs. Quashie emphasized on the core mandates of the foundation with respect to making positive impact on the lives of the less fortunate. Mrs. Quashie reiterated the request for food items made to the foundation by the Headteacher of the Akropong School for the blind. The requested items donated include: bags of rice, gallons of vegetable cooking oil, boxes of tomato paste, sacks of sugar, buckets of margarine, bags of flour, bags of maize, bags of beans, and bags of gari. Aside the items donated, the foundation gave a cash donation of Gh₵ 20,000.00 to support the management of school.
In her concluding speech, Mrs. Quashie said “no child should go hungry, and with this donation, the BKQ foundation aims to contribute to their wellbeing and nurture their development”. She further assured the students that they are not alone, and that the foundation stands with them to support their dreams and aspirations.
The donation of the items was made with utmost sincerity and compassion to commemorate an amazing time of worship with the entire students and staff of the school. The Headteacher of the school, Madam Veronica Dery expressed an appreciation on behalf of the students and staff of the Akropong school for the blind in respect to the generous items donated.
