Bkq Foundation Provides Mechanized Borehole For Wusuta-Kpebe
On Sunday, January 21, 2024, the BKQ Foundation commissioned a mechanized borehole in Wusuta Kpebe, located in the North Dayi Constituency of the Volta region.
The residents of Wusuta have faced water scarcity for decades, particularly after being affected by the spillage from the Akosombo dam, which caused damage across the Volta Region. As a result, they had been forced to consume untreated water from a nearby river, putting their health at risk.
The implementation of this borehole project perfectly aligns with the BKQ Foundation’s mission of addressing social development issues and making a positive impact in communities, as well as empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Chief of Wusuta, Togbi Amekuadi, along with other dignitaries. Togbi Amekuadi, who chaired the event, expressed deep admiration and appreciation to the BKQ Foundation for their significant contribution to the community. The celebration was made even more vibrant by the drumming and dancing performances from the Wusuta Dynamic Borborbor group and Wusuta Kpebe Agbadza group.
Mr. Kudzo Quashie, speaking on behalf of the BKQ Foundation, emphasized the importance of maintaining and taking good care of the borehole for the benefit of all citizens. The Chief and elders of Wusuta expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the foundation for funding the mechanized borehole project.
